Thy Kingdom Come…

One family's journey crossing cultures in pursuit of the kingdom of God

Partnership Opportunities

Above all we must rely on the work of the Holy Spirit in and through us.  The work of redemption, whether it is man, culture, or creation, is God’s work, although he has determined to do much of his work through us. In addition, God graciously gives us the gift of community.  It is this community of partners that we need.  What does this mean?

We need prayer. It’s something of a mystery, but God invites us to participate in his work through prayer.

We need people who care. There will be times of joy and pain, times of rejoicing and times of mourning, times of success and times of failure.  We need people who can listen to our struggles, who can provide accountability and perspective when we lack it, and who can rejoice with us when God provides glimpses of his faithfulness and power (aka success).

We need more workers. Short-term or long-term, the hospital needs more personnel in order to fully provide healthcare and proclaim the gospel.  It is also an encouragement to the long-term workers when short-termers come to visit.

We need financial support. The above needs are our lifeline, the actual substance of what will sustain us. The financial part is simply a means by which to be able to serve in this capacity.  It is, nonetheless, a vital need.  One-time or monthly contributions can be sent to:

Samaritan’s Purse
Attn:  Post-Residency Program
P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC  28607

(828) 262-1980

Include our names (Jon and Bekah Pollock) and account #003679 on the memo line of the check.

Thank you!

Hi Bekah! We missed seeing you at the birthday party in Moline but love your blog.
The family photo is terrific! How quickly your family is growing.

So, do you have a link to the Samaritan’s Purse that we can use to set up electronic payments?? That would be terrific.

    Can’t wait to learn more!

    Blessings,

    Neil and Janet

  3. Dr Pollock, Hi I love seeing the photos of you and wife and children in Ethiopia! I will be traveling to Chencha Feb 17th with a group of medical personell from First Baptist Atlanta! Remember me? I asked you if you had ever boiled peanuts?? Well, I am so excited about this trip – we will fly into the capitol on the 17th and then on to a small village of Chencha. I think it is in the mountain. Ever heard of it? Let me know if you get this e-mail. I am still on 11E at Emory. Dr. Galloway encouraged me to get involved in medical missions!! There are several MD’s and nurses going on this trip!!
